We start our sightseeing day in Bethlehem. Our first stop shall be the Church of Nativity to visit the Cave where Jesus was born. Other sites we shall visit are Saint Jerome’s Cave, the Holy Innocent of Bethlehem Cave and Saint Joseph’s Cave. The Milk Grotto, where the Holy Family took refuge while Herod’s soldiers killed the infants of Bethlehem is optional. After Bethlehem we shall drive east towards the town of Beit Sahour to the Shepherds Fields to see the caves of the Shepherds and remains of a Byzantine monastery and church. There is an optional visit we can take to the Herodion to see Herod’s fortress. Later you are free to go shopping in Bethlehem, which is known for its olive wood carvings and other crafts. We then head to the hotel for the overnight stay.
