Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Caesarea/. Mount Carmel /Cana

After your early arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, you will be met by your guide and drive to Caesareato visit the Roman Theatre, Crusader City, the water aqueduct and the Byzantine Churches. You will then go to Mount Carmel to visit the Cave of the prophet Elijah, or the place of the sacrifice where the prophet Elijah challenged the priests of Baal. After that you will go to Cana of Galilee, where Jesus did his first miracle by turning the water to wine. Your final destination for the day will be your overnight hotel at Tiberius.

Day 2 Caesarea Philippi, (Baniyas) /the Golan Heights /Kuneitra /Capernaum /Tabgha

After breakfast your guide will take you to Caesarea Philippi, (Baniyas), where Jesus told Peter “you are the Rock, and on this Rock, I will build my Church “. From there you shall continue to the Golan Heights and stop at Kuneitra, the Capital of the Golan Heights. There you will hear the story of Paul’s conversion to Christianity on his way from Damascus. Later in the afternoon, you shall go to Capernaum to see Saint Peter’s house where Jesus lived during his ministry in Galille . After that you will go to Tabgha, the site of the multiplication of loaves and fishes. Then you shall visit the Church of the Primacy of Peter. At the end of the day you will return to your hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 3 Tiberias (Jordan River baptismal site)/ Mount Tabor/ Tell Megiddo (or the place of Armageddon).

After breakfast we will drive south along the Jordan River to get to the baptismal site, located on the southern end of the Sea of Galilee. There those who wish may renew their Baptismal vows or to be Baptised. After that we go to Mount Tabor to the site where Jesus transfigured in front of Peter, James and John. You shall get the chance to view the Jezreel Valley from there. There is an optional visit later to Tell Megiddo or the place of Armageddon. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay

Day 4 the Jordan Valley / Beit Shean/ Jericho

After breakfast you will leave Tiberius through the Jordan Valley and head to Beit Shean to visit the Tell and Amphitheatre. After that you will drive to Jericho, the oldest city in the world. In Jericho you will visit Tell Jericho (optional), Zacchaeus tree, Elisha fountain, the remains of Herods Palace, Beginning of the old Roman Road. You then shall go to the Mount of Temptation to view the Orthodox Church and the caves of the hermits. You will stay overnight in Jericho.

Day 5 Masada / Qumran/ Dead Sea

After an early breakfast we shall drive to Masada to ascend by cable car. Masada is the fortress of Herod the Great and the location of the story of the Roman siege to the Zealots in the first Century AD. We then shall visit Qumran, where the manuscripts of the Essences and the Dead Sea Scrolls where discovered by a Bedouin nomad. Our final stop will be at the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on earth, for swimming. At the end of the day we shall drive to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 6 Bethlehem/ Beit Sahour/ Herodion

After breakfast we shall start our sightseeing day in Bethlehem . Then first stop shall be the Church of Nativity to visit the Cave where Jesus was born. Other sites we shall visit are Saint Jerome’s Cave, the holy Innocent of Bethlehem Cave and Saint Joseph’s cave. The Milk Grotto, where the Holy Family took refuge while Herod’s soldiers killed the infants of Bethlehem is optional. After Bethlehem we shall drive east towards the town of Beit Sahour to the Shepherds Fields to see the caves of the Shepherds and remains of a Byzantine monastery and church. There is an optional visit we can take to the Herodion to see Herod’s fortress. Later you are free to go shopping in Bethlehem , which is known for its olive wood carvings etc. We then head to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 7 Jerusalem

After breakfast we shall start our visit to Jerusalem and we begin with the old city. Out entry point to the old city is Dung Gate, where we shall walk to visit the esplanade of the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa mosque to view from the outside (it takes a very long time to queue to get in). (optional). We then exit to St. Stephens’s gate and on to St. Anne’s Church to see the cave where Virgin Mary was born and then to Pools of Bethesda, the site where Jesus healed the paralytic man, the Chapel of Flagellation,
After that we walk to the Via Dolorosa, the Way of the Cross, which shall take us to the Holy Sepulchre. In the afternoon we shall walk to Mount Zion, through the Armenian Quarter, to Dormition Abbey, the place of the Assumption of Virgin Mary, the Upper Room, where Jesus celebrated the Last Supper. We shall then go to the tomb of King David, the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu to see the location of the House of the High Priest Caiaphas and the Dungeon where Jesus was put to spend the night after He was arrested at the Garden of Gethsemane and denied by St. Peter three times. We then go to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 8 Jerusalem / Ein Karem

We shall start early after breakfast and head to the Mount of Olives, where you shall enjoy a panoramic view of the Old City. There we shall visit the Church of Pater Noster, where Jesus taught his disciples the Lord’s Prayer. Then we shall walk down to the Dominus Flavit Church, where Jesus wept over the city of Jerusalem . We will walk down some more to the garden of Gethsemane, to the Church of all the Nations the site of the Rock of Agony. Later, (optional), we go to the Tomb of Virgin Mary and next to it the Cave of the Betrayal.
In the afternoon we shall visit the beautiful village of Ein Karem and go to the Church of Visitation, where the Virgin Mary came to see her cousin Elizabeth, the birth place of John the Baptist. Alternatively, we can visit the Yad VaShem (the Holocaust Museum) or to the Israel Museum, to see the Model of Jerusalem of how it could have been during the Roman period and the Shrine of the Book, where some manuscripts of the Dead Sea are kept. We then go to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 9 Tell Beer Sheeba

After breakfast we shall head to Tell Beer Sheeba to visit the Well of Oath and the Valley of Ella, where David killed Goliath.

Day 10 Hebron

After breakfast we shall go to Hebron to visit the tomb of the Patriarchs (the Ibrahim Mosque), where Abraham, Sara and the rest of the Patriarchs are buried is underground chambers located in the heart of the old city of Hebron (Al-Khalil). According to Holy Books, the Bible and Quran, the cave and adjoining field were purchased by Abraham as a burial plot. After that we shall visit The Russian Orthodox Church, the site of the Oak of Mamre or “Oak of Abraham.” Towards the end of the day we shall go to one of Hebron’ glass factories, for the famous mouth blown Glass and pottery.

Day 11 Departure

Your guide shall accompany you as you depart to go home via Ben Gurion Airport, Allenby Bridge or Sheikh Hussein Bridge.
